PLANNING GUIDELINES

Janis Barlow was initially retained in 1994 to undertake an organizational assessment for the Ritz Theatre in Tiffin, Ohio (population 19,000). She provided consultation on strategic planning, program development and theatre restoration.

Strategic and organizational planning sessions inspired the Board of Directors and staff to launch a successful campaign to restore the theatre auditorium, increase the seating capacity, modernize the theatre function and add a backstage addition.

Killis Almond was retained by the Ritz Theatre to undertake a Master Plan for the theatre and the design and development of a $4.3 million rehabilitation. The theatre reopened on Valentine’s Day, 1998.
